Google’s Gary Illyes has hinted that there would not be a Penguin Update for a few months to come.
It is noteworthy that Penguin refresh was quite frequently rolled out through 2013 and is known to affect websites that have poor backlink profiles. However, it seems that next Penguin update won’t be rolled out for sometime now.
In past, Gary, at SMX advanced admitted that current Penguin Rollouts are extremely slow & Google is working tirelessly to make them realtime in nature. Its a known fact that Google’s Penguin rollouts are currently manually assisted and still requires “data pushes”. Last known Google’s Penguin 3.0 Update rolled out on October 17, 2014.
While Google delays their next Penguin Update, on Google’s Portuguese Webmaster Blog published that users should not ask for links.
This blogpost read “não compre, venda, troque ou peça links” (Do not buy, sell, exchange or ask for links).
Moments later, Google again updated its Blogpost to say “Buy, sell or ask for links that may violate our linking webmaster guidelines.”
